District Governor-Bill Robson
District Update

William (Bill) Robson was born and raised in the North-East of England. He emigrated to Canada in 1974 and continued his banking career with The Bank of Nova Scotia after having worked for the Midland Bank in England for almost seven years. Bill retired from banking in 2011 after 43 years.

Bill is married to Lona and has two daughters and three grandchildren.

 Bill was invited to join the Provisional Rotary Club of Cloverdale in 1994 and went on to be the Charter President in 1995. For a short time Bill moved to the Surrey Rotary Club, because of a change in jobs, where he served two years as club secretary, but after he retired he moved back to Cloverdale and rejoined that club.  Bill is currently a member of the Langley Central Rotary club.

Bill has served at the District level as Polio Plus Chair from 2000-2008, Assistant Governor from 2003-2007, International Projects Chair 2007-2008, Grants Chair 2008-2009 and Foundation Chair from 2009-2013. In addition Bill has worked with the District Visioning Team since its inception and is also a member of the faculty for the Rotary Leadership Institute.

I

n October 2011 he was proud and privileged to join a National Immunization Team to Ethiopia which delivered polio immunization in a small village in the northern part of that country. Bill also went to Uganda at that time and helped in Gulu with Rotary projects before heading to Southern Uganda as a member of The Rotary Foundation's Cadre of Technical Advisors to assess the results of a large 3H grant.


In April 2013 Bill led four young professionals to New Zealand as a Group Study Exchange team to District 9930.

Bill is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and in 2012 was recognized by The Rotary Foundation Trustees with a Regional Service Award for a Polio-Free World.
