Announcements:  President Patty attended her first Area President's meeting last night..an email to follow
                             President Patty advises us that DG Scott was very favourably impressed by our Club during his visit
 
                             Congrats to all who helped at the Terry Fox Run
                     
                            Gayle updated us on the new Vocational Service grant program for high school students that are pursuing non-degree post secondary education.  We will hear applicants present on how the 4-Way Test applies in their lives.  Club has committed $4000.00 for this project..$1000.00 winners..twice a year at both PMSS and HWSS.  Runner's up to be offered a chance to attend either YAIL or RYLA.
 
Alan has Well Gift Certificates and RibFest Aprons to sell...please see him to buy...they make great gifts!
 
Alan, Al, Trudy and Cleone attended the Rotaract meeting last night and presented them with a cheque for $8717.03!!
 
Cleone advises that Chris Vowell's donated leather furniture is now being well used in the HWSS art room!  Philip Lopestri helped deliver it..well done all!
 
RRIPs planning underway..will be open to 100 members of the public and the city will do the registration for us. Save the date of Oct 15!  She is doing posters and will need some help to distribute them.
Cleone has also helped with a few finishing items for our grant at Mossom Creek.

Speakers's Corner
 
Another amazing Classification talk this morning from new member Coreen Morozuik!  Such words of
wisdom and what an amazing and accomplished life!  As she ended her speech, Coreen said one of the 
things she tries to do is "Find her tribe and Love them Hard"...a perfect fit for Rotary..whether the tribe is your Club, your Community or all of Humanity!!
 
Coreen reflected on her personal journey that has brought her to recently settle in Port Moody and how life lessons have taught her the importance of : family and support love and accept everyone..a gift from her own Mother advocate for and protect others grow in your faith let go and go forward be fearlessly authentic
 
We are so glad her journey has also brought her to us!
 
Coreen also told us about her professional life and many accomplishments  and how important
 it has been to sacrifice and be challenged to pursue educational/vocational dreams.  She has
an undergraduate degree in Science, advanced learning in Ranch and Farm Management and has
also trained in Negotiation at the UBC Sauder School of Business.
Her career has taken her to a wide variety of government and industry positions, including 10 years
with the Alberta government..both in Statistics and Market Research..as well as Environmental
planning..linking agriculture and the environment through project management.
After a move to BC, she worked for Agriculture Canada for 3 years..with a focus on International
connections. She currently works for the Investment Agriculture Foundation where she supports
the connections between international buyers and Canadian government and businesses.
Through her work with the Vancouver Council of The Institute for Agrologists ..she has also had 
significant grant writing experience..teaching others how to write effective grants. I think most of
us learned that Agrologists study land and water systems..their health and management!  Wow!
 
Based on her core values..faith, positivity, gratefulness (espescially for her 3 beloved children and
her work), integrity, ethics, compassion, generousity of spirit, and taking action to "leave people better
than when you found them"  Coreen wants her life to be that magical combination of caring and practical
help for others.
 
In her free time, Coreen enjoys her family, her menagerie of pets and having fun...dancing, hiking, skiing and, of course, volunteering.
 
Coreen's grandfather was a Rotarian and it seems like she has now found a new home...we hope that we can truly be part of her tribe!!!
