Today we had a busy meeting and very fortunate enough to have numerous guests including:

Our Paul Harris Fellow Award Winners:
Dave Bennie
Dr. Elaine Golds
Ruth Foster
Rod MacVicar

These four individuals are all well distinguished and have been recognized for their outstanding volunteer work in our community and especially as it relates to the environment, including our local salmon hatcheries and even Rotary Rips. Presenting the awards was our President Trudy Gallant. A donation of $1,000 US was made by our club for each recipient in their names to Rotary International.

We also presented our Certificate of Appreciation to Hugh Mitchell of the Sunrise Rotary Club in Coquitlam. Hugh has cheerfully for his past 7 years of service acted as our Santa Claus for the Eagle Ridge Manor Christmas Party.

Other guests included Michael Cox who has attended our last two meetings and Carolyn and Bryan & Elie

Club Updates:
Ian advised on Ribfest announcing that:
Al has agreed to act as our Volunteer Chair for 'Swag'
Jeannie displayed this years T-shirts and aprons which will go on sale to the public. They also showcased this years Ribfest logo.

Trudy provided an update on our contribution to four Shelter Boxes. Unfortunately due to the overwhelming support of Shelter Box to natural and man made disasters around the world our boxes will not be ready for shipping for another two months. Shelter Box did provide an update on how they are learning from worldwide events to tailor  the boxes to individual needs and climates.

Linda provided a brief update on Shred-A-Thon noting that more volunteers are still welcome and to arrive at 8:30 AM at City Hall. This is a rain or shine event.

Trudy reminded everyone of our Installation Dinner on June 16th. We are having a huge turnout this year with 57 people already signed up. Dress is Smart Casual for men and Cocktail apparel for women.
