Westchester Fire Fighter deliver "turn out jackets" to Mexican Fire Fighters from Zapopan

Roger, from the Westchester fire station, brought donations probably worth more than $10,000 to assist the Chapala FD in a project of the Ajijic Rotary Club, in cooperation with Playa Venice. He is staying in Jalisco and doing workshops for several hundred fire fighters in Zapopan. He is a paramedic and will emphasize rescue techniques. Don Culton represented the Club at the ceremony that included the General Secretary of the Municipio de Chapala, Mike, President of the Ajijic  Club was there along with Norma Cannon and Les Strong who are co chairs of project. Jim Vuchsas was scheduled to be there but health issues prevented the trip. It was because of Jim’s efforts that Roger came to Chapala. We will be discussing the project at Nov 5 weekly meeting. The turnout jackets donated by Roger cost $1000 apiece and will replace very worn and obsolete ones that the station here has been using.
