Our Club was chartered on June 7, 1989, by Rotarians from the Palos Verdes Peninsula Club who found it more convenient to attend evening meetings.  Dr Javid Jalali was our Charter President and Robert A Welbourn followed him as our first full term President.  Our membership includes many community leaders and internationally-recognized authorities.

Community projects have included: staffing Chamber of Commerce mixers and annual street fairs, City of Rancho Palos Verdes anniversaries, PV Art Center fundraisers, Whale of a Day, Salvation Army bell-ringing, distribution of Peninsula directories, Project EGO, Literacy projects, and a Centennial Project planting a native plant garden at the Palos Verdes Interpretive Center, a premier whale watching site.  With matching RI Foundation funds, we have built a heart clinic for the town of San Pedro Nayarit in Mexico, supporting an orphanage and Project Amigo in Mexico with a spectacular Cinco de Mayo fundraiser orphanage support.

One of our members participated in Rotary International Polio Corrective Surgery teams in Uganda and India.  Our members have sponsored and hosted Group Study Exchanges for exchange students from many countries, and have been GSE leaders to Germany and France.  Our Club contributes to District leadership, including DG 2012-13 Lew Bertrand and PDG David Moyers.

Palos Verdes Sunset Rotary Club has a reputation for the best food and fellowship in District 5280. We meet on Tuesday's at 7 PM.  Join us for a meeting and introduce yourself!
