Recently, as most of you are aware, President Elect Carolyn Lehr announced she will not be renewing her contract as City Manager of Rancho Palos Verdes.  After much soul searching Carolyn has advised me due to the uncertainty of her future plans for job search and possible relocation to Northern California, she will be unable to meet her obligations at this time as incoming President.

Jim Hartman, a past President and currently the Program Chair approached me to advise of his willingness to assume the role left vacant by Carolyn.  In accordance with our Bylaws and guided by the philosophy of District 5280 and Rotary International, the Board of Directors unanimously approved Jim Hartman as incoming President for 2014-15 at Friday’s Board meeting. Jim will be attending PETS at the end of February.  He will need a team of leaders to assume responsibilities during his term.

If anyone is interested in a specific role or wishes to learn more about a position, please do not hesitate to contact myself, any Board member or Jim directly. Along these lines, we also need to nominate a President Elect for the following year.  If you are interested in this role, please let us know.  I have to say from my personal experience it is extremely rewarding!
