In Case We Missed You: July 15, 2016
President Allen opened the meeting welcoming all of us to his second of 50+ meetings, and invited Jim Hartman up to deliver our weekly invocation. Additional volunteers (thank you for volunteering) Ron Ellis – pledge; Shawn Nejad – song; and Paul Rubincam – welcome song. Mel Shrier introduced our guests. We had several visiting Rotarian friends from the South Bay Sunrise Club, President Bob Kelchner, Marianne Kelchner, Karen Greenberg, and David Hensler; and Arlin Krueger visiting from Albuqerque, NW Rotary Club. Additional guests, Blair Van Buren of Sabre Financial, guest of Derald Sidler, and special guests, PDG Rick Mendoza and Jennifer Sullivan!
Announcements:
I announced that an email went out to all members who have signed up for the August 9th District Breakfast. I need to confirm your attendance, as we have some members on the waiting list who would like to attend. If you did not receive my email, your Club Runner information is incorrect! If you signed up for the breakfast and do not attend, there is an expectation from the club that you reimburse the club $35.

Foundation Dinner sign-ups! October 22, USS Iowa. $125 per person. We have three tables of 10 available. The event is sold out, so if would like to go please make sure you sign up at the July 22nd meeting.
Crenshaw Clean-Up. Paul Rubincam has scheduled Saturday, July 23 as the next clean up date. Contact Paul if you are able to assist.
Harry Kitter is looking for others to help make a difference with a sponsorship for the 2016 Educator of the Year event. Harry is also looking for suggestions on corporations who may be potential sponsors.
Sunshine Committee Report: Cheryl Hellberg is home and recovering and doing very after experiencing a small stroke. Please – no phone calls. Cards are encouraged. Suzy Zimmerman updated us on her husband, Zim, who suffered a heart attack. Suzy stated that Zim is feeling great and hopes to visit a Friday meeting soon! She thanked us for our thoughts and prayers. Again, cards are encouraged!
The South Bay Beer & Wine Festival Co-Chairs, Karen Greenberg and David Hensler, visited our club to announce, and deliver the proceeds of this fantastic event. We had a champagne toast to the event, all of our hard work, and a check for $10,000.

Thank you to all members for making this such a success!
Raffle Winners: Judy Maruszko and Henry Lee!

Congratulations to both!
Our program today was past-president and webmaster extraordinaire, Greg Sparkman, presenting and educating us on our website, ROTARYPVP.OM
Our website includes invaluable information and offers some helpful communication tools. We will be using the website more this year to communicate to club members, to sign up for events, and to share calendar of events (including club meeting schedules and speakers). If you have not visited the website, start now. Again, the web address is www.rotarypvp.com
Have you signed in to our member area yet? Once you arrive to the website, you can sign up in the upper right hand corner, “member log in.” After you log in, you are able to update your profile, view our club directory, and correct any important contact information. If you do not have either your username or password, please email a request for a “reset” to Greg (email below). Greg will then reset a new password and reply with the username currently in the system and a new temporary password. This will enable you to login and get you to your profile settings. Anybody getting a password reset should login asap and change the password to the secret one that they want to use. You can also change the username anytime. Whether you use Chrome or Safari, most modern browsers will store the username/password for sites you visit if you approve that function. Greg recommends that people use this function so these credentials will auto-populate even if you have forgotten what they are.
