In 2011, Morgan left Whitehorse to cofound Little Footprints Big Steps. She has been working full-time with the organization ever since. As the Executive Director, she leads the staff and programming initiatives, forges partnerships with Haitian government agencies and nonprofits, and advocates for children as a delegate and keynote speaker at conferences around the world.
This past Tuesday's meeting's guest speaker was Donna Reimchen of the Ukrainian Canadian Association of Yukon. In her presentation, Donna highlighted the organization's recent trip to Ukraine and the 20 full suitcases of much-needed humanitarian aid items they brought with them. They have formed a solid partnership with the hospital which received most of the items.
Donna talked about the items they are planning to deliver when they return to Ukraine in March. They are actively fundraising and seeking support for this next journey in early March.
People interested in contributing, can contact Donna directly at info@yukonukrainians.ca or 867-335-2045. They also have a website, www.yukonukrainians.ca where people can find more information on the list of items they are looking to gather in advance of their trip.
