Our Club's Foundation, the San Francisco Rotary Foundation, recently presented financial support to RotaCare Bay Area. This year, $11,000 was awarded to not only the Northern Peninsula but also to the Coastside Clinic.

Started by Rotarians over 31 years ago, RotaCare has helped to fill the gap of healthcare services in over 10 medical ambulatory clinics. In the Bay Area, RotaCare continues to provide support to patients providing free healthcare to those who are underserved and uninsured. As Dr. Marshall Fordyce stated at a recent Rotary meeting, the needs have never been greater, and sadly, the times we are in, have created a rise in healthcare demands.

Frequently, many patients in the Bay Area, who are at or below the safety net, go for medical care and services. They are migrant workers, hotel service management workers, domestics, unemployed, and homeless, all requiring the services that RotaCare has helped to provide. Our Club has helped our local RotaCare clinics (Northern Peninsula and Coastside) by staffing clinics with administrative and licensed clinical support, remote offsite clinical reporting, technology support, and healthcare staffing.
