Upcoming Events in the Club and the District
  • There is an ALPS Facilitator Training on February 22.
  • Stephanie Schmautz (Elder Care and Senior Services | The Carlisle) promoted World Wide Rotary Day 2020 on March 24, 2020. Everyone was encouraged to register early; walk-ins for this event are not allowed. Anyone wishing to host a consul on World Wide Rotary Day should contact Stephanie.
  • Grant funding requests for 2020-2021 are due on Friday, April 10, 2020 by 5 PM.

Heidi Kuhn (Peace Building | Roots of Peace) and Cecile Chiquette (Accounting | Fiduciary Administration) made donations to buy masks for Rotarians and friends in Wuhan, China for protection from the coronavirus. The Foundation of the Rotary Club of San Francisco matched their donations.
 
$20 for Twenty Seconds included: 
  • Janet Krahling (Real Estate: Sales | Compass) who celebrated her recent visit to Yosemite. 
  • Melissa Galliani (Communications and Media) who left her job in search of a new one. 
  • John Mathers (Management Consulting | eVo Associates) who gave an update on the Rotary Climate Action Team (RCAT).
Guest Speaker
Today’s Guest Speaker was Marc Johnson, a member of the San Francisco Beekeepers Association, who provided an introduction to honey bees, talked about the benefits of having bees all around us, and dispelled some common myths about beekeeping that cause anxiety among city dwellers.
 
Door Prize
Bebo White (Education: University | Retired) won today's door prize, which was honey from Hamburg, Germany and a t-shirt. Bebo gave both to Marc Johnson, today's speaker.
