Katelyn Cano will talk about her experience as a first-generation college student and how it led her to write her first book, More than Before: A First-Generation College Student Guide, when she was in graduate school. Based on her personal experience, the book provides first-generation students with the information they need when applying to college, and during their studies.

Katelyn will also talk about how the book is being utilized by students at non-profits, colleges and universities, and high schools.

Katelyn Cano is a Bay Area native. She put herself through undergrad and graduate school and because of her life's experience thus far, she is most passionate about education and assisting youth with their academic endeavors. She spends her free time traveling, reading, and studying history and archaelogy. You'll find Katelyn at museums, book stores, libraries and archaeological sites. And you'll find more information about Katelyn and her books at www.katelyncano.com.
