There were 27 Rotarians in attendance.

Queen Marie called the meeting to order at 12:15. Corinne McClintic from the Wilmette Club visited to share news of a Trivia Night that they are holding on April 1 and encouraged us to attend. $50 per person, held at Wilmette Golf Club.

Lee Padgitt shared a Thought: The Rotary Vision. Marie led us in the Pledge and we had lunch.

After lunch, Chuck Norton asked Rotarian Liz Taylor to introduce her guest: Sylvia from Wintrust in Northbrook. Bob S. had Thrift Shop Manager Jennifer with him as well. And, Josie was in attendance from the Village of Winnetka.
There were no birthdays or anniversaries!

Announcements:
  • Rik will still happily accept donations to buy school supplies for his upcoming trip to Peru.
  • District Conference is April 24-25 in Schaumburg.
  • Bob S. made a paid announcement to encourage all to attend the CCNS Benefit on March 6. David Grant has offered to donate $100 to WNRCF for each Rotarian that attends this benefit. Bob upped the ante with an additional $25 per Rotarian who attends.
  • Jennifer reminded us of the Thrift Shop Spring Opening on March 5.
  • Heidi shared info about the benefit concert at Little Rickys at 7:30 on Thursday evening. Kudos, AGAIN, to Joe for pulling together this event. There were several raffle baskets on display and many raffle tickets were sold
Happy Bucks: Patti offered one that she is in Day 4 of her new job at Winnetka Congregational and had not yet gotten fired. Wes shared one that he is proud to be a Rotarian. Marie shared that she is happy to be spending some “girl time” with relatives downtown this weekend.

Dig N Grin: Felicia shared two very funny jokes.

Speaker: Our Speaker was Winnetka Detective Jeremy Walton, who shared some of the latest con jobs and scams that we must avoid.  There were numerous questions at the end of his presentation; we should have him attend regularly with updates, to keep us informed and aware.  His powerpoint is here:  https://portal.clubrunner.ca/2417/Documents/en-us/27344463-c0e1-4090-96fc-4c9c466888ef/1/

Patti won the raffle ticket pull and drew the three of diamonds. Queen Marie adjourned the meeting at 1:30 by inviting us to recite the 4-way test.
