After careful consideration and an over-abundance of caution, I have made the difficult decision to suspend all Rotary lunch and Board meetings for the foreseeable future. You are all too precious, and COVID-19 is not playing around.
Public health officials are encouraging citizens to avoid public gatherings, particularly those 60+ years old and those with health issues. We want to be a part of the efforts to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, and I feel strongly that this is the right thing to do.
New cases are spreading exponentially around the world and here at home, and the CDC anticipates that the numbers will get worse before they get better. I am simply not willing to risk the health and safety of our members, especially considering our demographic is on the...um, "mature" side.
There is the possibility of conducting online meetings in the future, and I will, of course, keep you apprised of our status all along the way. If you know of any members who may not check their email or with whom you have regular contact, please check in with them by phone to make sure they are up to date.
Please take good care, follow the CDC guidelines, and know that your Queen loves you all very much.
