Dr. Alan Goldman
New Trier Township Supervisor

Alan Goldberg is Supervisor of New Trier Township. In this dual role he is the elected head of the Township Board of Trustees and in charge of the staff itself. Alan has been a Township resident for the better part of 63 years and attended Avoca Schools (when Marie Murphy was a person and not a building) and New Trier High School. He then went on to earn degrees at Columbia University and Tel Aviv University.

He has served as President of UCP (United Cerebral Palsy) of Illinois for more than 20 years as well as a board member of UCP/Seguin of Greater Chicago. Alan has also served as Chair of the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities and Special Assistant to the Director of the Office of Special Education Services (OSEP) of the United States Department of Education. He is also a Public Policy Fellow of the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation.

Alan previously served the Township as a member and chair of the Township Committee on Disabilities as well as a two term trustee. Mr. Goldberg assumed the role of Township Supervisor in May 2017. He lives in Wilmette with his wife and two daughters.
