District Simplified Grant Enhances Experience for Students at Maine East

 

The Rotary Club of Park Ridge recently assisted students at Maine East High School create a "welcome" mural featuring a "welcome" greeting in 16 of the most frequently spoken languages at the school.   In all, there are more than 50 languages spoken at Maine East, a school with one of the most diverse student populations in the U.S.

Pat Ahern, president of the Park Ridge Rotary said, "To be able to partner with a school that includes all kinds of people in studying and learning makes us very proud."  The club provided both financial and hands on assistance for the project, with the support of a District Simplified Grant.
