The Executive Director of the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), Lousi Kosiba, will be the speaker at this Friday's meeting. Many of our government and elected officials are covered by IMRF and it's a big part of many discussions about how to fix Illinois finances. As legislators continue to work toward the state’s budget agreement, many local community members are left with questions about the status of their pensions. The presentation will seek to answer those questions by covering:
- The difference between state and public pensions
- A description of the five state-run pension plans, as well as possible solutions
- The current status of IMRF – the best-funded public pension plan in the state
Louis Kosiba has been with the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) since 1988, and has served as executive director since 2001. He is a lawyer and has an MBA from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
