Speaker Karyn Davidman is the Executive Director of the Highland Park - Highwood Legal Aid Clinic. It was started from the Human Service Task Force of the City of Highland Park to help residents with legal services. Their Mission Statement is "Access to the justice system for those in need."

The Legal Aid Clinic has identified three areas of need: Domestic abuse or violence, tenant/landlord matters, and immigration assistance. Funded by grants from various people and communities, they do not rely on Federal grants because that would limit who they are able to help. The program is made up of volunteer attorneys and paralegals as well as community volunteers. Kathryn Vanden Berk is the managing attorney who leads this operation.

The Highland Park - Highwood Legal Aid Clinic is seeking more volunteer and monetary support from all!

Many Thanks to MIke Babian for help with this week's bulletin!
