The Day's Program
Gail Cutler told us about her daughter being depressed, her difficulties with relatives and friends who did not have a clue to the seriousness of the disease, and the offensive but innocent remarks she tolerated until she ultimately committed suicide.  This experience resulted in Gail and her husband establishing a foundation named Rebecca’s Dream.  She spoke of the vision of Rebecca’s Dream – “To create a world of compassion and understanding of depression and bipolar disorder as real diseases”.

The foundation's primary goal is to reduce the stigma of mental illness through education by providing tools and resources for the sufferer and their family to learn, understand, recognize and cope with depression and bipolar disorder. In addition, the organization offers grants for those who are trying to change the face of mental illness..

“A charitable foundation fueled by the dream of Rebecca Cutler – to help others receive the encouragement, hope and support they need to cope with mental illness and live fulfilling lives.”

Gail Cutler speaks passionately about Rebecca's Dream

What's Up Next Week....
Georgia Koch, Community Outreach Coordinator for Career Vision will speak to us about her organization. Career Vision's focus on aptitude based career planning has helped thousands of individuals and the families that support them make informed career choices.

Many thanks to Pete Koukos for taking notes this week! -mb
