On behalf of Linda Borton, President Bill reminded us of the 8/5/14 Rotary outing to U.S. Cellular Field (Sox vs. Rangers).  It should be a threefer + one -- a day to raise money for Rotary’s Polio Plus campaign, help Veterans, raise publiImagec awareness of Rotary, and enjoy good fellowship.  Of the $22 ticket cost, $10 will go to Rotary’s effort to fight polio.  We have the option of donating tickets to veterans.  Contact Linda to sign up (bortonsobon@att.net , 847-253-0310,  or see her at the installation.

As you can see in another story today, Fast Eddie's contest's Court Date was 6/19.  Enjoying these "visiting hours" were the two Eddie's, Bill and Betsy!  We can tell they haven't minded serving time together (34 years of "good time" ).  Buy Bill a beverage some time and ask him how he got his nickname -- it's a great story.

No lunch meet up this week -- instead will be the Installation at which Linda will become an official "Made" Rotarian President.  Try to join "us guys" for a great time at Club Rolling Green!

Fast Eddie’s Enforcer (a.k.a., Fine Master) from Elmwood Park was Jim Bertucci asked if there were any Happy Fines.  quizzed the tables on “gangsta” history.  See if you know some of our dubious history – 1.  What Palatine place was known for mobsters?  2.  What real Chicagoland figure was Joe Pesci in the movie Casino based?  3.  What “theater” in Chicago is remembered for well-known mob experience? 4.  For what crime was Al Capone convicted?  5.  Who was the recent book Family Secrets about?  For the answers, see "More" below.

Jim, the old neighborhood not only produced a good Rotarian, it helped make him an entertaining Fine Master !  Bob Paddock was glad to have a visit from his wife, Marcie.  Deb Whisler was happy for her "adorable husband" Bob.  Bill Kmiecik was happy to regale us with the story of how he got his nickname.  Sue Duchek told of former exchange student Ivan Soberan's successful growth in Rotary, and her plan to give her Paul Harris to him.  She felt his visit here helped pursade him to be a part of Rotary service.
