Prospective Members:
Prospective members are invited to attend their first two meetings at the Rotary Club of Skokie Valley free of charge. Advance reservations are not required.
Lunch is $18 for members, visitors and guests. Meetings begin at 12:15 PM & end at 1:30 PM every Tuesday.
 
Alternative Meals:
A limited number of alternative meals are available. If you prefer to have an alternative meal, please pick up a card at the check-in table & display it at your table setting or if you're in late, ask a fellow Rotarian to order for you. This will allow the staff to put your selection in as soon as possible:

The program speaker at the Rotary Club of Skokie Valley weekly meeting of 2/17/2015 was Mike Jacbson of the Skokie Library. His topic was "BOOMbox" for Interactive Learning and the Skokie Library Media Labs facilities in general.
 
 
The Skokie Library Digital Media Labs (DMLs) were created to help you create music, produce movies, edit photos, digitize tapes, design websites, and let your imagination take you wherever else you want to go.
 
Their Adult Digital Media Lab Studio features four Apple computers with iLife, Adobe Creative Suite 6, Final Cut Studio, and more. In addition, they have microphones and microphone stands, headphones, multimedia speakers, digital video converters, a Blu-ray burner, film/negative/photo scanners, a USB turntable, a Simmons Electric Drum Set and a Washburn Electric Guitar RX-22
 
Their High School Digital Media Lab, features three iMacs with iLife, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Handbrake and Xcode, plus microphones and headphones.
 
Their Youth Media lab features hardware and software especially selected for kids. Along with computers featuring Photoshop Elements, iLife, Scratch, Arduino software, inaddition they also have microphones, a tripod, a USB mini MIDI keyboard, a digital camera, and more.
 
Their BOOMbox provides tools and inspiration focusing on a different theme every few months. They have events and drop-in times for kids, families, and adults. All events may be found at www.skokielibrary.info calendar. The BOOMbox is in Youth Services, but it is not just for kids.
