Today the Rotary Club of Skokie Valley was honored to host Rotary District 6440 Governor Sarah Oliver on occasion of her annual club visit. It started at 10:30am with a special meeting of the board of directors. Governor Sarah started promptly by asking all board members to introduce themselves and give the reason why they joined Rotary. When all introductions where made president Ross Mathee informed Governor Sarah about the club's 2013-2014 membership goal, local and nternational projects, funds raisers and special events. After President Ross was done with his report, an exchange of ideas and suggestions session regarding club's business and Rotary in general was initiated, this went on until it was time to start the general luncheon meeting.
After lunch District Governor Sarah spoke to the club assembly about Rotary's presence in the world by outlining all the avenues of service, and closed with an emphatic discussion on Polio Eradication, stressing the reason why it is so important to continue on the fight against it.
