Update -- and good news -- about Club President, Harvey Clark

While traveling to Florida to celebrate his mother's birthday, Harvey suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. You can see his daughter's Facebook posts below. The good news is that Harvey is  getting out of the hospital today (April 19) and is expected to fly home on Wednesday!

April 12: My Dad came to FL for my grandmother’s 99th birthday on April 2. He had a stroke while he was visiting and has been in Halifax Hospital since April 8. He is stable and we haven’t seen any loss of sight, speech, joke telling etc but still in need of healing prayers. Thank you to everyone already praying and for those now joining us in prayer for complete healing.
Update: My Dad was moved out of ICU this afternoon. Still at hospital for observation but as he said - they moved him down a floor and that’s one floor closer to the exit. 💕 Thank you all for your prayers.

April 17: Update on my Dad. Still at Halifax (today is day 10). Getting stronger every day. Need to get that blood a little thinner before he can bust out of there. We are currently tied 2-2 in Cribbage. We thank you for the prayers. ❤️

Update on "Spring Cleaning For A Cause"

If you haven't already cleaned out your closets, there's still time to help Superstition Mountain Rotary Club raise needed funds for local area causes. Club member, Jeffrey Mitchell, has worked to coordinate a fundraiser in partnership with Savers Stores. The Club will be paid 20 cents per pound for donated items through a 'FUNDrive', sponsored by Savers Thriftstore Company. This is a very eco-friendly program and will help the Club replace some of the funds we have lost/been unable to raise, due to the Covid-related cancellation of other fundraisers the Club normally participates in. If you have clothing, or household items to donate, Jeffrey Mitchell/or another Club member will be happy to come and pick the items up.

Club social

The Club held a social event on Saturday afternoon, March 27th at the 'Sunland Theater' on Main Street in Mesa. Club members, family members and guests enjoyed a no-host bar and food -- along with some special yummy deserts provided by Rotarians. Those attending also enjoyed the music of Dave Webb's 'Southwest Surfers' and their talented band players. There was good conversation, laughter, and some dancing --- a good time was had by all attending.
