Red Badge Biographies - Part II
Barbara Williams grew up in New Jersey, number 4 of 5 girls in a large extended family. Sports was her passion in the early years. Her first career was as a NJ juvenile probation officer and she was very involved in policy and legislation. With a desire to change to Physical Therapy, Barbara returned to school for her degree. She spent some time in Miami and ultimately wound up in Santa Cruz. She works with wheel chair-bound and brain injured patients. She's been competing with Team-in-Training for the past 2.5 years and recently competed in Australia with 10 other SC women in her first Iron Man Triathlon.
Next up the inimitable and self-described workaholic, Tiffany Zachmeier, introduced us to her beautiful and amply named 8 yr old son and 14 yr old daughter. A SC resident since the age of 2, Tiffany has been a Rotarian for many years. She's a marketing maven having worked for both Bay Federal CU and Coast Commercial Bank. She's an animal lover, lifelong student, a handywoman, green thumb'er, singer, klutz and volunteer. She warns: "I'm a party animal, unto myself. and I'm taking everyone with me!" Oh yes, and she only has eyes for her sweet baboo Jason!
Simon Fisher is a Sr. Marketing Manager with Easton-Bell-Gyro. He's been married to wife Susan for 16 years and they have 2 sons. Simon was born in LA but fortunately, before it was too late, his soul was saved when he moved to Santa Cruz as a child. He studied Engineering, Biz and Ed at San Jose State. His passion for riding took him into a career as a professional mountain biker racer. He later entered the "outdoor" industry with Kestrel. After completing an MBA, his observant nature enabled him to excel in marketing and product management for the fitness industry. He served stints with Yakima and a non-profit in Humboldt County before returning home to roost in Santa Cruz.
