Please grab a lawn chair and join us for out annual big band concert and ice cream social on the library’s front lawn! The Big Band Sound Orchestra recreates the swinging sound of the big band era, performing classic jazz compositions including those made famous by Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, and Benny Goodman. In the tradition of these great orchestras, The Big Band Sound is a 20 piece jazz band consisting of six saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, guitar, bass, piano, drums, and vocalists. The Big Band Sound has performed throughout the Hudson Valley since 1975.
