The club’s board of directors met on Thursday, April 21, using the Zoom platform. Highlights include discussion of holiday gift coordination with another charitable organization, the upcoming Electric Boats event, the decline in number of scholarship applications, and development of the 2022-2023 board.

The treasurer’s report was provided in written form, including updates on revenue, expenses, and status the Duck Dash sponsorship progress.

The board approved a membership application submitted by Doug Evanson, a former Rotarian who wishes to re-join Rotary through the Kirkland club.

The significant discussion centered on the president-elect's efforts to assemble a new board for consideration by the club's membership. Amy presented her programs theme for her year as president: “All Stars”.  Because it's the first year that COVID-19 is not dictating how and where we can congregate, this will be a chance for Kirkland Rotary to engage, reconnect and grow. One of Amy’s goals is to have a summary of the actions taken at board of directors' meetings presented once a month at a weekly club meeting. Amy’s thoughts are that the membership should be kept informed of the plans and actions taken on the club’s behalf at board meetings.  The board meeting schedule is published in the club's Calendar, including an individual Zoom link for each meeting for those who want to attend virtually. Rotarians may view this month’s board meeting minutes and those of prior meetings on the Board Minutes page, which requires a log-in. A link also may be found at the bottom of the Spokesman.
