Christine Bell of Lake Washington High School
Outlook for a new school year at Lake Washington High School
As principal of Lake Washington High School, Christine Bell leads the oldest of the seven high schools in Lake Washington School District. Approximately 1,800 full-time students attend Lake Washington High School in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, taking a wide variety of classes designed to meet the needs of a diverse student body. In addition to the regular academic program offerings, the school offers a rigorous advanced academic curriculum for capable students.  The school competes in athletics and activities at the 3A level. Principal Bell will introduce Rotarians to some highlights of the new school year, note several of the students’ and staff’s recent accomplishments, highlight the new facilities opening this fall, and describe how the Kangaroo team has designed instructional and support operations after more than a year of remote learning.

Christine is new to Lake Washington High School this year. Christine has served as an administrator in both the Marysville and Arlington School Districts, and as dean of students at Mount Vernon High School. She’s been an educator since 2007, having taught history, English, as well as leadership. Christine earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Western Washington University, and she is pursuing an Ed.D. at WWU. Presently, she lives in Marysville with her husband and two sons, Matthew and Noah, and while not engaged in leading a comprehensive high school she spends time reading, baking, walking her dog, and hiking and traveling with her family.
