District 5030 international projects and possiblities
Larry Logue, Rotary District 5030 International Chair for 2019-22 and Rotary Club of Lake Union Past-President for 2018-19, will provide club members an overview of international project possibilities, review the range of international projects undertaken by District 5030 recently, and then discuss some general grant related topics, including the Rotary International seven Areas of Focus, matching funds (DDF, World Funds), and resources available to help grant writers.

Larry retired from a mid-level executive position at IBM, where he spent much of his career working and living in Europe, South and Central America, and Asia, as a market manager. After retirement, Larry moved to Seattle, where his son, and now 2 grandchildren live.

His personal interests are carpentry and outdoor recreation. He kept his love of international travel active through high altitude trekking in the Himalayas, the Andes, and Africa. One of his trekking companions was a Rotarian from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In his travels in Africa, Asia, and South America, Larry saw first-hand the enormous need for clean water and improved sanitation in so much of the developing world. His energies are now focused on working within Rotary to help address the needs of these regions. He has completed Rotary water projects in Kathmandu, Nepal, and four WASH in Schools projects in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
