As I mentioned last evening I am trying to keep things fun, different and exciting this year and as part of my Pre President training one of the items was a larger focus vocational.  We all know our club does a lot with scholarships but part of what District wanted us to emphasize this year was supporting your local business.  This too falls under the Vocational Service side of our club.  So on Monday October 30th we are getting out of the Woodmark and going to a local restaurant/pub for our dinner.  We are also incorporating Community Service this night with a Food Drive Challenge against the Downtown Club.  Sort of like what we did last year or the year before at Flatstick Pub.

Here is the plan.

1.     We are meeting at the Dub Pub which is owned by Athina Mangouras (daughter of former owner of George's Restaurant in Kirkland).  She also owns Lee's Brickhouse Pub in Juanita where we had a small event with the downtown club last spring.  So that covers the Vocational part supporting her new restaurant.  11516 124th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98033

2.     We are challenging the morning club to a food drive for Hopelink with timing being great just before Thanksgiving.  This covers the Community Service piece.   People can start bringing food to meetings if you are unable to attend and I will collect and hold at the office.  Or you can drop off in my office.  I will have a box or boxes inside my door.

3.     Fellowship for the night hits the Club Service side with a fun evening with our members and members of the morning club.

Please reply to me if you are planning on attending, and I will also have signup sheets at the next 4 meetings so I can give Athina an idea of how many may show.   LET'S COLLECT A BUNCH OF FOOD FOR HOPELINK AS THIS IS A VERY NEEDY TIME OF YEAR!!!.

There are 70+ TVS, dart boards, pool tables and much more.  We will have an area for our clubs to meet and have fun.  You can watch Monday Night Football, socialize, and have food and beverages.  I have attached a photo of the menu and they have a variety of food items.

Let me know if you can come and if you are unable to attend please bring food to any of the upcoming meetings and I will handle.

Thanks,

Steve
