Acting Immediate Past President, Nancy Smith, today presented Sunnyvale Rotary Grant checks to representatives of CHAC, Northwest YMCA and Vargas Elementary School Library. Accepting for CHAC were Monique Kane (Rotary Club of Mt. View) and Veronica Foster (Rotary Club of Sunnyvale). The grant will go to support the many programs on CHAC (Community Health Awareness Council). Louise Kuramoto, school librarian, accepted for Vargas School. The funds will be used to augment the school library science section. Joan Rieder (Rotary Club of Cupertino) accepted for Northwest YMCA. The funds will be used for the Y's "Summer Learning Program." Columbia Neighborhood Center received their grant last week. The grants application review committee, chaired by Nancy, included Carey Au, Ro Khana, Kurt Shuler and Liz Lopez-Aguado.
