Save the Date
Rotary Club of Casper members routinely volunteer to help pack food boxes at the Food Bank of Wyoming. The boxes that our members pack go to families in need in our community, and are just a small part of the one million+ meals provided when they’re needed the most. Volunteers meet at the Food Bank of Wyoming (5150 Reserve Drive, Evansville) around 1:30 pm.
Our monthly Social Hour is held on the last Thursday of each month. Save the date: Thursday, October 26th from 5-7 pm. Location to be announced. Have suggestions on what you'd like to do for social hour? Please contact Chastidy Greenwood.
Rotary Foundation
The Annual Fund is the primary source of funds that support The Rotary Foundation’s programs and areas of focus. For the 2023/2024 Rotary year, The Rotary Club of Casper has established an ambitious goal of donating $30,000.00 to the Annual Fund-Share. Please consider helping us achieve this goal. Every dollar matters. Find out more about giving and “how to” at https://www.rotary.org/en/donate or contact Kelly Ivanoff for assistance.
Leave of Absence Requests
A reminder for those of you who will be requesting a leave of absence for the winter or for any other reason, please complete a request form and return it to Nicole Tholson. All leave of absence requests must be voted on by the board at the monthly board meetings.

Treasurer’s Report (Glenn Januska)
So far for the fiscal year there is a loss of $10,884 in club operations. This is not unusual and is due to some expenses which are paid at the beginning of the fiscal year. On the charitable and service budget, we have not received all the revenue from the golf tournament, so we have not paid out the net income- currently showing at $12,567. For the Duck Derby, we have also not collected all the sponsorship revenue, nor paid out the obligated amount to the Trails Center, so while we show $25,853 from that event, that amount will also change. We currently show $11,548 in net income for charitable and service.
On the balance sheet, the $25,000 certificate of deposit is for/from club operations and the $18,885 in the FIB savings account is also for club operations. The $91,030 in FIB - Service Projects is money reserved for service projects. On the capital project page there is a $41,030 balance (obligation) for the listed projects and there is a $50,000 reserve the Board adopted. Therefore there is $33,421 in unobligated cash in the FIB - Checking account, but those funds are what is needed for the operations and charitable budgets.
Mike Lougee asked whether the Board had ever approved funds for Sunny Acres Park. Dan Odell stated that there is no record of a motion approving funding for Sunny Acres Park unless it was named differently at the time. Glenn noted that the projects on the capital project page are what have been approved by the board. Kelly Ivanoff is going to work on a summary of the projects that the Board has committed to. Mike Morrissey is going to chat with Anthony Martinez and both Mike Morrissey and Dan Odell are going to meet with the City of Casper for clarification.
Greyson Buckingham asked Glenn if he had chatted with Stifel about investing funds. Glenn advised that he had and that right now the club does not have enough money to invest to make it worthwhile.
Mike Lougee made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Lori Klatt. Vote: all in favor. Motion passed.
