The Walk4Literacy is a family-friendly event designed to raise awareness of the children’s literacy crisis impacting the Sacramento Region. Currently, 2 out of 3 children in our region DO NOT read at grade level. Join us as we walk to bring our children to a future of 100% literacy.

This fun 4-mile walk ends at the Walk4Literacy Festival where you can connect with quality programs impacting local children’s literacy.

Family registration: $60 (2 adults & up to 3 children)

Individual registrations: $35

Students of all ages: $20

Groups of 10 for $25. If you have a team of 10 – 19 walkers, registration fees are reduced to $25 per walker. Contact info@walk4literacy for details.

The Walk4Literacy route is just 10,000 steps or 4-miles. It begins in McClatchy Park(Oak Park), goes past McClatchy Library (Midtown), passes the Capitol, and ends at Cesar Chavez Park where the Walk4Literacy Festival will be held.

Funds raised by the Walk4Literacy will be distributed through a grant process, administered by an impartial third party, to nonprofits working to improve and enhance children’s literacy skills in our region.

Take steps to help Sacramento’s children achieve grade level reading.
