Fiji Building Project

At last Mondays meeting I had the pleasure of presenting Ben Scott with a cheque from our Club. Ben is the second of the apprentices who will be accompanying our Clubs' work team on the trip to Fiji to participate in the Rotahomes Project in May. As Ben was unable to attend our meeting at the Jan Juc Surf Club 2 weeks ago his presentation was held over until this week. The $2,000 given to Ben has come from special fundraising events by our Club and will cover his travel expenses for the trip.

As an apprentice in the local building industry Ben will have much experience to offer the work team and it is hoped that through his participation on the team he will gain a greater understanding of the work of Rotary as well as pride in knowing that he has assisted people who struggle with the basic essentials of life.
