On Thursday 31st March, our Strathewen Primary School friends will head down to Torquay for the 12th year. According to Principal Jane Hayward, everyone is looking forward to a day of surfing, beachcombing and enjoying Torquay Rotary’s famous barbecue lunch.

Gail Chrisfield and partner Karen Bingham have again done a great job of co-ordinating the activities for the day as per the schedule below.

We could  a few more helpers so if you are available to assist please contact Alan Anderson who is managing the food for the day.

·  Torquay Rotary arrives to set up trailer and prepare food
·  TSA arrives (about 10.15am) to set up
10.15-10.30am
·  Coach arrives, passengers disembark for comfort break and refreshments
10.50am
·  Senior Group: Grade 3 to Grade 6 (20 kids plus adults) joins TSA to get wetsuits and start preparing for surf lesson
·  Junior Group: Prep to Grade 2/3 (17 kids plus adultsprepares to head off for land-based activities
11.00am
·  Land-based activities with Junior Group underway
11.15am
·  Surf lesson with Senior Group underway
12.30pm
·  Land-based activities finish
·  Lunch starts for Junior Group
01.00pm
·  Surf lesson finishes – participants change into dry clothes
01.15pm
·  Lunch starts for Senior Group
·  Junior Group: Prep to Grade 2/3 (17 kids plus adultsjoins TSA to get into wetsuits and start preparing for surf lesson
