Ian was a bit surprised to receive a Royce Abbey Award last dinner meeting, but may well have thought that "something was up" when Toby came into the meeting !!For those who didn't know, the existence and operation of the Royce Abbey scholarship scheme was expertly described by David and Maria from the Rotary Club of Essendon and representatives of the Royce Abbey Committee. Ian's commitment to the Vocational area and in particular his establishing links to LLEN and continuing to monitor and push for improvement in the spending of Government funds to enable at risk and unemployed youth to find their way into the workforce and lead a better life is exemplary. Add to that the various "hands on" projects which he has initiated and successfully completed with help particularly from Barry but also other members makes him a worthy recipient for this Award.
