Our guest speaker last Wednesday was Amanda Hough  from Torquay Rotary Club.   Amanda is the District 9780 Committee member for Interplast.  Interplast sends teams of medical volunteers from Australia and New Zealand to developing countries in the Asia Pacific Region to deliver programs of treatment and training.  Interplast changes the lives of many people by providing access to surgery either by providing the treatment or training the local staff to provide the treatment.  Currently Interplast have achieved the following.

  • 41 Programs delivered
  • In 16 countries
  • Providing nearly 1000 operations
  • Delivering training to medical staff
  • Providing over $2 Million of pro bono services
Thanks to Amanda for such an informative presentation. The Board will consider supporting Interplast as part of our program of work.
