John Richmond and Barry Bedggood offer another lot of wines
Ballarat West Rotary Club turns Wine into Coffee!

The Rotary Club of Ballarat West recently held a very successful Wine Auction at the Ballaarat Yacht Club on Lake Wendouree. John Richmond and Barry Bedggood led spirited bidding throughout the night.

Over $8000 was raised on the night.  The proceeds will be put to good use by local disability action group Pinarc who will apply the funds towards the purchase of a coffee van.

This Coffee Van will then be used by participants of Pinarc's barista training in their Independent Living Skills Program. This popular program enables young people with disability to develop skills for transitioning from school to volunteer work or employment.

There was spirited bidding for some 86 lots of quality wines with our Rotarian Auctioneer for the night Barry Bedggood fielding the bids. Local wines featured well including donations from Michael Unwin and Nintingbool wineries which were supplemented by some excellent vintages from the Rotarians' own cellars.

So one day thanks to some fine wines and the joint efforts of Pinarc and the Rotary Club of Ballarat West you may one day be enjoying a freshly brewed barista coffee made by a very special person who may not have had such an opportunity otherwise.
