As the groundhog sees - or not - his shadow every year in February, the swallows return to Mission San Juan Capistrano every March, and fools return every year in April, another annual rite is celebrated in Kingston.  The return of Swing for Rotary Golf Classic to White Horse every June.  This year, June 21.

Everyone who plays the game of golf, loves White Horse, cares about our community, and wants to have fun, should be planning his/her foursome right now.  Entry fee is $160, but here’s what you get.  Greens fees and cart, value $73.  Unlimited range balls, value $8.  Logo’d golf shirt, value $60.  Goodie bag, value $12.  Box lunch, value $12.  Dinner, value $35. Drink tickets, value $12.  Total value, $212.  If you’re a value-driven investor, you’re getting a good deal.  Not throwing money down another charity golf tournament rat hole. It IS a good deal.  And, by the way, you’re helping our North Kitsap community enormously.
Consider this. Ninety-five percent of proceeds this Rotary golf tournament generates, goes into our community (the other five percent support Rotary’s international projects in disadvantaged countries).  There are no overhead fees or hidden costs.  The bucks stay in North Kitsap - Kingston, Indianola, Hansville - the 98364, 98346, 98342, and 98340.

With the money the tournament raises, Rotarians are able to fund a summer and vacation meal program - Food4Kids - for the kids of North Kitsap.  They provide college scholarships for Kingston High School seniors.  They give important support for North Kitsap Schools.  Support Senior meals at Village Green Community Center.  And, they fund 2019’s Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club focus, the opening of Coffee Oasis, a coffee shop that benefits at-risk teens in our community.

Think for a minute.  Get ahold of the folks who played in your group last year.  Right now.  Get the commit for June 21.  Or, if you’ve seen the signs and always thought playing in the event might be fun, take action.  Think of a foursome you can put together.  They don’t have to be from around here.  Participants come from all around Puget Sound.  Because it’s fun.  And, as proven above, it is a good deal.  And it is really good for our community.

This tournament would not be possible without the contribution of its many sponsors.  They are an important driver of each year’s success.  As of this writing, we welcome back tournament sponsors Latitude 48, Kingston Dental, The Point Casino, Windermere Real Estate/Catherine Arlen, Columbia Bank and Liberty Bay Bank.  Several sponsorships remain available, including hole sponsorships, long drive and driving range sponsorships.
