In addition to meeting a prospective new member, Kingston North Kitsap Rotarians learned about an international project to which they've contributed, the Manzanillo Migrant Mission, at the joint meeting of their Noon and Satellite Clubs, Wed, Apr 20.
First they met prospective member Adam Amos, who has been a member of the Rotary Club of Green Valley, Henderson, NV.  Adam has recently moved to Hansville.  Why the move?  For the love of the NW.

Here Adam, right, exchanges Club banners with Club President Chris Gilbreath.  Adam looks forward to getting involved in Club projects and exploring all the trails, waters, history, and culture of the North Kitsap community.

Our speaker at the meeting was Geoff Schmidt, Crossroads (Poulsbo) Rotary President.  Geoff and his Club have generously supported the Manzanillo Migrant Mission Project in Mexico.  Working through Jeff, the Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club has also supported MMP, which provides food to migrant workers from southern Mexico - very poor farmworkers, many of whom don't even speak Spanish.
The project was initiated in 2014 by a Kingston woman, Karen Wilson, Geoff's monther.  In 2015, the project granted $13k and delivered 19k pounds of food.  In 2022 the Manzanillo Migrant Mission project will account for nearly $30k and 46k pounds of food.  Per Geoff, the difference is Rotary.
MPP provides off season sustenance to migrant workers.  A typical dispensa (bag of food) includes cornmeal, rice, beans, sugar, salt, tuna, and chili peppers.  It weighs 27 pounds.
