The Hauppauge Rotary Club honors the memory of Joseph Bitet, an honorary member of this club.   Joe passed away on January 7, 2012 at the tender age of 30.

Sgt. Joseph Paul Bitet served in Iraq as a Marine for two tours of duty.

He was currently serving in the U S Army reserves with the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, working in Public Affairs as a photo journalist and was scheduled to deploy to Kuwait in May.

Joseph was a kind, thoughtful and very brave young man who would do anything for the people he cared about.

He was loved by all who knew him.  We will miss him dearly.

Donations in his memory are being made to Iraq Afghanistan Veterans Association, 292 Madison Avenue, 10th floor, New York, NY 10017 or online at www.iava.org.

Rest in Peace Joe! You will always be in our thoughts and hearts!
