Meeting Highlights
Yoichi gave a check from SURF for $3,000 to the Discovery Garden Preschool Instructors. It will cover 3 tuitions for 6 months. Tony Terrasi is getting together a donation from a doctor, of medical equipment after January that will go to Mexico.
Great Extractions: Rusty and Val were the SGTS. They were in somewhat of a hurry because of the size of the audience they went to Happy Bucks. Jane Anne was 
happy to see the results of her work as Prez in 2005 when the Massai project started. The Rotary Club of Naivasha, Kenya has been a long time partner in global grant water projects with our clubs and districts. On Wednesday morning, two of their members spoke to the Prescott Sunup RC about the project in Narok, which is finally very near completion. Immediate past president Edward Mathenge gave an update on the details of getting the new well connected to the water distribution system. Also, on 
hand were Dr. Mary Poole from Prescott College and Metamei OleDapash. Metamei is a Maasai leader and was instrumental in getting the Narok project started. He also reported the latest water project in Kenya is about to launch near the village of Talek.
Finally, Rotaract Naivasha club president Ephantus Kariuki talked about the projects his club has done and what they are proposing to carry out, including their participation in the Crutches 4 Africa mobility device distributions, feeding and training prisoners, work with local youth and medical camps. They also have a water filtering project on the horizon to reduce the levels of fluoride in Naivasha water to an acceptable level. Joining the team were Gladys Githaiga and Loice Kole, both from Nairobi.

Last Wednesday evening Sunup members enjoyed our annual Christmas party with a great dinner, terrific gifts and prizes and holiday conversations. Thank yous to Ben, Val and George for all their work in setting up the festivities.
