Our guest speaker will be Joe Mancini, co-founder of The Working Centre.  The Working Centre provides supports to approx. 230 people in shelter each night in KW, including the people at the highly visible, controversial homeless encampment at Weber and Victoria – as well as running St. John’s Kitchen, and many other services to members of our community in need of housing, food, jobs, and supports of all kinds.  This will be a great opportunity for us to see and hear first hand about this encampment, ask questions, and also hear from Joe about a major initiative The Working Centre has recently announced to address some of the issues the homeless in our community are dealing with.

LOCATION:  St. John’s Kitchen - 97 Victoria St N – (directly across from the encampment at Weber and Victoria).  Parking is available behind St. John’s Kitchen (map below)

 TIME: 5:45 social/meal; 6:30pm presentation

MEAL – to be provided by St. John’s Kitchen – you’ll experience the type of meal people may receive there.

RSVP:  Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can let The Working Centre know how many meals to prepare.

The Working Centre is doing important work in our community to assist with homelessness – we hope you’ll join us for an inside look at the one of the most critical societal issues our community is currently facing.
