ROTARY GLOBAL GRANT

At Tuesday's meeting, Rotarian Brenda Erickson from the Rotary Club of Peachtree City, GA and developer of the Souns program joined Natalya Kaydash and Karina Garcia of the Rotary Club of Vieques to share with the club her progress with the ongoing teacher trainings at the Early Start and Head Start Programs.

Beginning In Mayaguez, Rotarian Brenda trained 26 teachers and supervisors on Monday. She visited the leadership at the NY Foundling with recently inducted Rotarians Hallee and Russ Patterson and that afternoon trained Karina on the implementation of Souns. That evening, she was welcomed by the Rotary Club of Rio Piedras, sponsors of the current Souns Grant. Brenda returned to the NY Foundling to train 15 teachers later that morning and to train later in the day another 15 in Loíza. On Thursday and Friday, she visits ACUDEN where she will introduce the Souns Program to its leadership in four sessions. With over 100 participants, this lays the groundwork for our next Global Grant. 815 classrooms island wide.
