Towards Better Telecom Services - A Regulator’s Perspective

Alee has a broad background in technology, operations, and management. Having spent 20 years in the telecommunications industry, working here in Cayman, across the Caribbean Region, and across North America as an industry expert on telephone numbering and network operations.

With wide expertise in the Cayman Islands and across the region, Mr. Fa'amoe now manages the daily operations of the ICTA, and is charged with ensuring that technology service providers comply with the Information and Communications Technology Law.

After two decades in a technical industry, Alee spent several years at Deloitte Cayman Chief Operating Officer where he was responsible for HR, marketing, IT, operations, and finance departments. He also served as a subject matter expert on client consulting engagements, and worked with Deloitte offices in several Caribbean locations with operational matters.

Alee then moved to Brac Informatics Centre or BIC where he helped clients with workflow, web and cloud systems, designing solutions and providing project management for those solutions.

Alee spent most of the past year as Independent Consultant, advising clients in areas such as IT systems, workflow design, paperless processes, and management consulting.

In late May 2014, Alee was appointed by Cabinet as the Managing Director of the Information & Communications Technology Authority.

Alee also serves as a Director on the Board of the Electricity Regulatory Authority.
