Join your fellow club members on a 90 minute guided walk through the old correctional centre/jail lands.

We will be led by John Fisher and Brian Skerritt who will provide commentary on the lands, structures and history of the area.  We will be walking a loop trail (so start & end at same place).  They are recommending that you wear good walking/hiking shoes. There are trails but they are not groomed so anyone with mobility issues may find it challenging.

Note that one section requires that you "walk a plank" to get out on the bridge to see the river. If you are unsure when we reach this point, you can just turn around & return by the way we came.

We will start at the Heritage Bow Street Bridge which is located where Stone Road crosses the Eramosa River.  Parking is available outside Barber Scout camp just off Stone Road ( I used Barber Scout Camp as the location below so note that we would be parking closer to Stone Road).  As there may be other hikers/walkers parking at this site (it is a popular site), this lot could easily fill up.  I would encourage some car pooling if possible.  For instance, some us could meet where we are going for refreshments afterwards & car pool to the walk & back.

After the walk, we will plan to go to a pub for some snacks/refreshments.  Once the committee has an idea of the numbers attending, we will decide where to go & setup a reservation.

You are welcome to bring your partners (please include them when you register).  We are not limiting registration at this time but that might be required should this prove to be popular.   John and Brian thought that they could accommodate 25 folks.  Once we get over 30, that might be too diffcult to hear!

No dogs/pets are allowed at John/Brian's request.

At this point we have not set a rain date.

Should you have any other questions, please ask Laurie (laurie@childrensfoundation.org).
