Concert Schedule:

2:00 pm – 3:15 pm: Mes AmisThis acoustic Gypsy jazz quartet based in Central Maine features good friends who were brought together by a love of good music. The music of Mes Amis is infectious and original. Listeners young and old enjoy its insistent rhythms, bouncing bass lines and sweetly intricate melodies.

3:30 pm – 4:45 pm: Casco Bay Wind Symphony — If you like Sousa, Broadway, and Big Band music, you must hear the 70-member Casco Bay Wind Symphony. The music educators, professional musicians and dedicated non-professionals who make up this inspiring ensemble demonstrate that the arts offer opportunities for lifelong enjoyment. They were a huge hit at last year’s Music by the Sea celebration.

5:00 pm – 6:15 pm: Roosevelt Dime — The band’s name, appropriated from a coin minted in 1946, provides a historical reference point that underscores the music of this East Coast-based quartet. This engaging brotherhood of musicians traces the rich tributaries of Americana: Blues, Bluegrass, and New Orleans Juke Joint Rhythm and Blues, electrifying these enduring genres with a modern charge. Camden’s own Eben Pariser plays electric guitar.

7:45 pm – 9:00: The Lowdown   This popular Midcoast band brings great harmonies and tasteful arrangements to energetic performances of American folk and roots music. Singer-songwriter David Dodson’s compositions — which run the gamut of American styles from folk to country, blues and rock — range from poignant to hilarious. Singer-songwriters John and Rachel Nicholas create music that speaks to the heart. John and David both play acoustic and electric guitar, with Rachel on percussion. Lifelong musician Mike Nickerson supports this soulful ensemble on upright bass and blues harp.

This performance will precede Camden’s spectacular fireworks presented by the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.
