Johan Munck is a European retailer of Swedish origin who was “deported” in the 90-ties when working for H&M. It took him 19 years of international missions for several retailers in 6 countries before returning to Sweden again. He has held several leading positions for international retailers like H&M, Esprit, NewLook and Hunkemöller. Today he is the CEO of the Swedish kidswear icon, Polarn O. Pyret.
This evening Johan will share with us the challenge of coming into a company in crisis just on the brink of the most turbulent times the retail industry, as well as he himself, has ever seen - the Covid-19 pandemic. This period changed the retail sector forever and accelerated a long-term trend where there is no turning back. Johan will let us in on how they succeeded in their company turn-around and his view on the future of retail.
This will be a hybrid meeting held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Malmö, and virtually on Zoom, with Johan presenting at the Radisson.
Guests are always warmly welcome at Malmö International Rotary meetings, either in-person or virtually. If you plan to join us for dinner in the hotel restaurant after the meeting, please plan to arrive in the hotel lobby by 17:45 so that we can help you order a discounted meal from the restaurant menu. We look forward to seeing you!
