The Community Service Committee is seeking member support for the 27for Parkinson’s event.  The 5 Glenferrie Walkers have agreed to walk on 27 days during November, you can nominate who you are supporting or simply give a donation to the Glenferrie Walkers. The committee of Lyn, Chris, Helena, Alex and Michael has registered with Parkinson’s Victoria under the name the “Glenferrie Walkers".  Donations can be made to the attached link. Parkinson's is a progressive neurological disease that can affect anyone. The average age of diagnosis is 65 years, however, younger people can also be affected.  There is currently no cure nor do we know what causes Parkinson's.
Parkinson's Australia relies heavily on fundraising and any form of donations from the general public.  The organisation is only partly funded by the State Government.  All monies go toward supporting the 27,000 Victorians who suffer from the disease, and also to fund research.
Every dollar counts, for example:
  • $27.00 provides 3 people living with the disease an individual kit and support when diagnosed.
  • $70.00 will provide a person with individual planning and support  from P.A's health support team.
  • $125.00 will allow 1 person access to online education
So please help support the Community Services team by donating to the attached link. Glenferrie Walkers
