Our speaker next week is Bwe Thay who is a Deputy Commissioner at Multicultural Victoria and  he is also on the Board of the Refugeee Communities Association of Victoria
 
Bwe Thay is a passionate advocate for a multicultural Australia.  Prior to his appointment at MV,  Bwe has held many leadership roles within Victoria’s multicultural sector with a focus on education and employment for new and emerging communities. He has received a range of community and academic awards for his contributions, including the Victorian Multicultural Commission’s 2018 Emerging Leadership in Multiculturalism Award for his advocacy work in providing information about issues and challenges impacting multicultural communities in Victoria. Bwe arrived in Australia in 2009 as a refugee migrant. He is a graduate from the Australian Catholic University, and currently works as the Migrant Aspiration Program Coordinator at Swinburne University of Technology.
