Our speaker next Monday is the honorary  Lithuanian Consul General, Dana Levickis.

Dana came to Australia as a DP (displaced person). Her parents left Lithuania during the war with the intention of returning home, but the mass deportations of Lithuanians to Siberia and the Berlin Wall made them reassess the situation. Arthur Caldwell invited people who looked like Australians, had an education and were fit and healthy, to Australia, hence they came to the most live-able city in the world.

Dana has a BA from Melbourne University and a post graduate Dip Ed from Monash University and for most of her life enjoyed teaching Maths.

She will give us an overview of the people, the economy, politics and culture, tourist destinations and  the constitution of a small self proclaimed republic in the city of Vilnius.
