A good turnout for the meeting last Monday with a few joining us online - it seems the hybrid meeting is working. President Cathie managed to get more of herself into the picture - she's learning :)

A few updates on the night

  • Val spoke about the FORaMEAL packing event at the Hawthorn Town Hall which was attended by over 180 students in 2 shifts. These students represented 26 schools across the community and they packed a fantastic 38000 meals. Way to go team.  The packing event was also attended by Josh Frydenburg who took the time to meet with the students and thanks them for their efforts. Story is that this went down very well with them - they got a great sense of pride in doing good for others
  • Gilly gave Rob praise for his efforts in managing the beverage supplies as she had to do it during his 3 week absence in Singapore - job for life there Rob!!
  • Steve gave the unfortunate news that, after their previous thumping win, the Kew Bears came back down to earth with a loss in their last fixture. Wonder if this had something to do with their manager??
  • Doug initially asked for volunteers at the conference to run the packing event but we have subsequently been advised that this has been cancelled. It is felt that the numbers attending would not justify running it
  • Bob confirmed that the playground removal program is going strong with another one biting the dust - there are plans for significant playground removals over the coming months and so there will be an ongoing need for volunteers
  • Edda confirmed changeover night is booked for June 27th at the Amora Hotel again. Great venue and the last changeover was a fun night so make an effort to attend

No meeting on the next 2 Mondays with public holidays so if you have anything you want included in the bulletin be sure to send it through. After a great start to members corner in the last bulletin there is nothing to include this week.

D9800 conference next Friday through to Sunday looking forward to seeing members of the other clubs and hearing the good things that are going on in the district.

Advance notice that our next Speaker on May 2nd is Ken Mitchell whose topic is "40 years of domination of football"  Bio to follow closer to the date

Don't forget the Autoclassico on Sunday May 15th - Graham will be looking for volunteers on the day.
